4th of July BBQ Review: Ribs, Hush Puppies, Coleslaw, & Fries at Red-Hot Blue

“BBQ Ribs, Hush Puppies, Coleslaw, and French Fries”

Hi, Angels Working on Earth Family!

I had some delicious BBQ on the 4th of July! Usually, I go to Red Hot Blue for my BBQ fix. It’s an old favorite of mine, and I’ve always had good experiences there. My go-to order is the 1/2 rack rib combo which comes with ribs, hush puppies, coleslaw, and fries.

When I went to the restaurant on the 4th of July, it was pretty busy, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. Many people were waiting to be seated or to pick up their food. Plus, with social distancing guidelines in place, I was worried about maintaining a safe distance from others.

I was lucky enough to get seated at the bar, where only two other people were sitting together. I was at least 6ft away from them, and the servers at the bar were wearing masks. My goal for the day was to eat, enjoy my meal, and leave as soon as possible. However, the service was slow due to the holiday rush, staff shortages, and perhaps a lack of proper customer service training.

Now, let’s talk about the food! It was good, but I was hoping it would be as great as it was in the past. The meat was tender, and the sauce was flavorful (they offer different sauces for their BBQ). The coleslaw was decent, but I would have preferred it with less mayonnaise. On the other hand, I loved the hush puppies and fries. They were both still warm and crispy.

I heard that the restaurant is under new management, and I really hope they can bring back the quality that people raved about in the past. The servers were too busy to check on customers’ satisfaction and needs, such as refilling drinks or providing adequate service. I knew they were busy, so I paid as soon as I got my order to avoid any delays.

Would I go there again? Maybe, but it’s not a definite yes. The quality of the restaurant showed through on that day, and the true test of quality is how they rise to the occasion. I’m curious about other BBQ restaurants in the area, and I’m thinking of doing a review of Famous Dave’s in the future, as they seem to be Red Hot Blue’s closest competitor.

I hope you all had a great 4th of July, and I’ll post a video of my experience on AWE-TV on my main YouTube channel.”

Happy 4th of July!

Love!
