Hello Angels Working on Earth Family!

I’m sharing these dishes to encourage those who are interested in vegan cuisine to give it a try. I’m featuring dishes from Green Fare Organic Cafe’s 21-day Vegan kickstart menu. After the program ends, I’ll also post my own creative dishes, some of which will be vegan and others that simply inspire me.

Today, I learned about the importance of stomach volume and feeling full. Your stomach can sense the volume of the food you eat, and the feeling of fullness is called satiety. It’s believed that a small portion of chicken doesn’t fill you up as much as a larger, bulkier food might, leading you to consume more calories than you realize (e.g., fat and calories). Unlike chicken, beans are not designed to store calories. They provide just enough calories for the seeds to grow, without any extra greasy layers of fat.

I had an excellent dish today that was very filling, almost like Mac and cheese. I noticed that I couldn’t finish the entire portion, but I felt satisfied and could stop when I was full, rather than eating just because the food was there. However, I did miss the desire for certain flavors, like the anticipation of enjoying something cheesy.
