Hi Angels Working On Earth Family!
Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m sharing another dish from Home Chef! Today it is, “Goats Cheese and Walnut Crusted Steak with Shallot Demi Sauce.
I absolutely adore the flavor combinations. Love! The carrots are so sweet and buttery. Baking them infused the buttery flavor and helped them retain the snap which gives it a wonderful texture.
The sirloin is packed with excellent protein and good fats; the flavor is juicy and well done! Walnuts and goats’ cheese is luxurious yet simple in flavoring. As a whole, the dish features quality fats, wholefood carbohydrates, and is seasoned with spices, herbs, and nuts that are nourishing, and delicious.
Start The Fries
Cut the potatoes into 1/2 inch fries and pat dry. Place potatoes on a prepared baking sheet and toss with 1 tbsp olive oil, seasoning blend, 1/4 tsp salt, and a pinch of pepper. Spread a single layer on one side and bake in a hot oven, for 10 minutes. While potatoes bake, prepare ingredients.
Prepare Ingredients
Coarsely chop walnuts. Peel, trim and cut carrot on an angle into 1/4 slices. Peel and mince shallot. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and goat cheese. Set aside. Pat steaks dry, and season both sides with 1/4 tsp salt and a pinch of pepper
Finish Fries
Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven. Gently flip fries. Start roasting the carrots,
Roast Carrots
In another mixing bowl, combine carrots, tsp olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven. Gently flip fries. Add carrots to empty half of the baking sheet and spread into a single layer. Roast again until the fries are golden brown, and carrots are tender. 20-22 minutes. While fries and carrots roast, cook steaks
Cook Steaks
Place meat in a medium non-stick pan and cook undisturbed until browned on one side, 4-6 minutes. Flip, and top evenly with goat’s cheese mixture. Cover, and cook until cheese is melted, and steak reaches desired doneness or 4-6 minutes for medium/medium-well. Steak thickness can vary. If you receive it thinner, then check periodically for doneness. Transfer steaks to plate and let rest, 5 minutes. Make sauce while steaks rest.
Make Shallot Demi Glaze
Use pan used to cook steaks to medium heat and add 1 tsp. olive oil. Add shallot to a hot pan and stir constantly until softened/ 1-2 minutes. Add demi glaze and 2 tsp water. Bring to simmer. Once simmering, remove from burner and stir in butter. Plate dish. You may see a demonstration of this recipe on my YouTube Chanel. I hope you enjoy the recipe; please like, share and subscribe!
