I’m excited to share this super yummy recipe called “Penne with your choice of protein, tomato-olive sauce, and fresh ricotta” from Sunbasket. The box arrived with all the ingredients listed, and I can’t wait to try it out and see how it tastes.

I’m all about experimenting and making changes, so I divided the ingredients into four main and four optional categories. But don’t worry, you can throw them all in if you want.

So, the Penne gives the dish texture and bites, ground turkey as protein, Sunbasket garlic-herb season blend as a perfect seasoning, and tomato sauce. Also, onions, parmesan, olives, and ricotta are optional ingredients that you can add to enhance the flavor.

The Penne in the box is the regular store-bought pasta, but I also tried whole-grain pasta, which has a slightly more decadent flavor and a slightly firmer texture. It’s also rich in fiber, which is great for digestion. For this dish, I used Sunbasket penne to keep it authentic. The whole-grain Penne might not be my cup of tea in this recipe, but I’m sure it’ll be great in another dish.

All the ingredients were fresh and adequately packaged. The directions are chill and easy to follow, and it took me about 40 minutes to make it. But reading the directions beforehand can save you even more time. Sunbasket meals are usually organic and taste amazing, and I highly recommend this recipe. The Sunbasket seasonings are top-notch, the protein is fresh, and the Penne texture is perfect!

If you’re a fan of whole-grain pasta, then go ahead and include it in this recipe. All the ingredients are necessary, but you can experiment and substitute if you don’t like something. I added the optional ingredients to give the dish an extra flavor.

Directions

Cooking is an art and a joyful experience that brings people together. Begin by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil and adding penne rigate, cooking it until it becomes tender. Toss the penne with olive oil to prevent it from sticking. In a bowl, add your desired seasonings, and heat oil in a large frying pan. Add the seasoning and ground turkey, cooking for 3-4 minutes or until the meat is cooked. Add tomato sauce and continue to stir. Finally, add the penne to the frying pan and let all the flavors blend together. Enjoy this delicious and satisfying meal with your loved ones.
