Hi, Angels Working On Earth Family,

One must get over the concept of sugar being used exclusively in cuisine! If you can eat it, then you can wear it! No. Sugar isn’t suitable for your diet. But it certainly is excellent topically. The purpose of a sugar scrub is exfoliation. Sugar scrubs can help remove dead skin cells, clean clogged pores, and make your skin feel soft. Some uses are a hand, face, lip, or foot scrub.

Sugar contains natural humectants which draw moisture from the air to the skin. It does have an advantage over salt, as it has much smaller granules. Salt can be harsh and drying, but the trick is to add ingredients that help the salt add moisture to the skin. Love!

The glycolic acid in sugar helps encourage cellular regeneration, which can help reveal younger-looking skin. We all want that! Sugar scrubs work well with other products too. Perhaps a nice sugar and salt combination?

 Sugar Types

Regular store-bought sugar is a great exfoliator and can be used on the body and the face. But make sure it hasn’t undergone any processing, which reduces quality!

Brown sugar is so moist! I feel like baking cookies just thinking about it! Focus Sheila! It is excellent for your face and can be used on the body.

Raw Sugar is suitable as a body scrub as it is coarser. The coarseness may be too harsh on your face.

Ingredients That Work Best With Sugar

Time to experiment! Sugars can be mixed. Coarse with fine and with other ingredients. We suggest you test the consistency to see how it works on the skin.

We have several top suggestions:

1. Olive oil is an excellent oil as it contains oleocanthal. This ingredient can help reduce irritation. 2. Avocado oil contains rich in fatty acids. It’s one of the best moisturizers as it contains Oleic acid and other nutrients. I love using avocado oil in soap. It makes a creamy and moisturizing bar! 3. Jojoba oil can soothe irritated skin, reduce inflammation, and help heal it. 4. Coconut oil is a natural antibacterial and antifungal. 5. Essential oils are usually used in aromatherapy. I consider them panaceas because specific properties can help specific skin issues. 6. Lastly, vitamin E can fade scars and help soften skin.

How To Use Sugar Scrubs

This is a personal preference. I love hot baths! Use a soft sponge or loofa in the bath. Then, add a generous amount of sugar scrub on dampened skin. Rub the sugar scrub all over your body. Relax! This is the time to dream…
